The importance of the role of mother has been emphasized throughout the world for a long time. In ancient Egypt, the powerful goddess Isis was worshipped as the embodiment of fertility and motherhood. In Greek mythology, the goddess Rhea, also known as \"Mother of the Gods\", was honored instead.
